Visit to the Murals at Prestonpans
Saturday 16 July 2011
Thirteen members of the Edinburgh Welsh Society enjoyed a very interesting talk on the murals by local artist, Andrew Crummy. These can be seen inside the Gothenburg and outside on walls around the town. Time and the weather prevented us from seeing all of the 30+ murals, so a return visit is a must.
Mr Crummy also gave us a brief introduction to the Prestonpans Tapestry, designed by him and stitched by many talented embroiderers. We then enjoyed a delicious lunch in the relaxed atmosphere of the Gothenburg Inn.

Christmas Service and Party
Sunday 12 December 2010
On Sunday 12 December we held our annual Christmas Service and Party. Despite the weather, many members and friends came along to sing their favourite Christmas carols. Huw John and his team also gave us the chance to think about the history of the Welsh language through an excellent play telling the story of the translation of the Bible into Welsh. This was followed by a wonderful party during which Santa called to see the children.
