Exciting news:

I am delighted to hear that Margaret, representing our committee, and Llinos, representing the Welsh Parents group, have been discussing a joint activity. The proposal is a family picnic on Saturday 30 August at Liberton Kirk halls and garden from 2.00–4.00pm.

Do please come and join us, bringing some picnic food to share if possible. There is a free car park next to the halls. Alternatively, the 37, 47 and 7 buses go up Liberton Brae. (Get off at Liberton cemetery and walk along the Kirkgate) The 31 goes up Kirk Brae, so get off at the Kirkgate stop. The halls are on the opposite side of the road to the church.

Forthcoming events:

Friday 19 September. Croeso. Mortonhall Golf Club, at 7.30pm.

Our opening social will be the usual buffet supper party, with plenty of chance to catch up with news and entertainment after supper. I plan to bring the map of the world and invite you to point out places you have visited, or plan to visit. The last time it was on display our members provided a host of fascinating anecdotes.

We meet in Mortonhall Golf Club, 231 Braid Road, EH10 6PB. The cost per person will be £20, payable in advance please. Please pay by cheque to Edinburgh Welsh Society, or by bank transfer – the bank details are:

Hugh Richards is very keen to start up a Welsh Male Voice Choir and would love to hear from anyone interested. He has sussed out possible venues and an accompanist.
