EWSNEWS January 2024

The story so far:

Sunday 10 December. Carol service at the Reid Memorial Church. 3.00pm.

Our Christmas service of carols and lessons was very much enjoyed by the members who braved the wintry weather. Margaret Brandie led a service of familiar carols, with accomplished accompaniment on the grand piano by Huw Thomas. The lessons were read in either Welsh or English. A two-handed topical “conversation” by Chris and Margaret was entitled “Good news”. This gave the Christmas message as it would be reported in today’s press. An absolute delight.

The service was followed by a vestry tea provided by all, with Huw and Lilian, Pamela and Hywel doing sterling work in the kitchen. Cards and warm Christmas greetings were exchanged. A lovely afternoon.

Forthcoming events:

POSTPONED – Sunday 21 January 2024. Eisteddfod at the Reid Memorial Church. 3.00pm.

Please note! With great regret this meeting has had to be cancelled for the time being. A number of our members have already intimated that they are unable to attend and the committee agreed we would be better to postpone this event until a more suitable date can be fixed. We are all sorry to have to take this decision, but it makes sense.
