EWSNEWS – April 2018

The story so far…

Sunday 25 March. Film show in the Reid Memorial Church small hall at 3.00pm.

A small but cheery group of us came to see the film, “Grand Slam” postponed from January.  It was much enjoyed, as was the bara brith thanks to Lilian.

Forthcoming events:

Friday 20 April. Cinio Gwyl Dewi at 7.00 for 7.30pm at Mortonhall Golf Club, 231 Braid Rd, Edinburgh EH10 6PB.

Just a reminder that we have our dinner to look forward to. Our menu and price remain the same (£25 a head) and I am delighted that our Gwr Gwadd, John Evans is free to toast our patron saint in our usual wonderful way.

If you are able to join us, but haven’t yet let me know … there is still time and I would really, really appreciate hearing from you. If you have not already responded, please phone (0131 335 3161) or email me (ewsccd@gmail.com).  I need numbers and menu choices (the menu is at this link) by Saturday 14 April please, along with your cheque made payable to Edinburgh Welsh Society or Cymdeithas Cymry Dineidyn. Do you need a lift, or can you offer a lift?  Please indicate this when you contact me.

Sunday 22 April. Mini Gymanfa in the Reid Memorial Church small hall at 3.00pm.

We meet in the small hall as the large hall is being redecorated. Refreshments will be served after the festival of hymns.

Thursday, 26 April. AGM in the Reid Small Hall at 7.30pm.

Your Committee has enjoyed putting the last year’s programme together, and we are nearly at its end – in spite of the weather! Now we look forward everso much to hearing from all our members at our Annual General Meeting.  This is your opportunity to comment on the past year and put forward your ideas for the next. Do you fancy joining the committee? You would be very welcome and fresh ideas and new contacts are always much appreciated.

Warmest get-well wishes to those members who are unwell, either at home, or in hospital.

I look forward everso much to seeing you soon.

Jennifer
