EWSNEWS January 2022

The story so far

Sunday 5 December: Christmas carol service at 3.00pm via Zoom

Huge thanks to Margaret for a joyful Christmas carol service. Lovely to see so many faces albeit on screen.

Dates for your diary

Friday 18 February 2022. meeting via Zoom from 7.30pm.

We propose to continue with Zoom for this meeting as it reaches members we wouldn’t otherwise see, and who knows what the weather and Covid will throw at us this early in the year. We hope to have a quiz, and full details will follow in my next EWSNEWS. Please mark the date in your diary.

Friday 4 March. Cinio Gwyl Dewi. Mortonhall Golf Club. 7 for 7.30pm.

Yes, we really are venturing out. We have booked the golf club and look forward to resuming a more normal programme of events.  We are keeping fingers, toes, eyes and legs crossed that we can celebrate our patron saint and our centenary – plus-one year as a Welsh Society without hindrance. Full details, including menu choices, cost, etc. will follow in my next EWSNEWS.

Sunday 6 March. Gymanfa Ganu. Reid Memorial Church large hall. 3.00pm.

We hope to have an afternoon of singing followed by chat. A long overdue chance to catch up with all the news. We are ironing out the health and safety details with the Church, but all looks set fair for our Gymanfa. We might even manage a cuppa, but that is one of the wrinkles still to be sorted. Rules change so quickly it is impossible to make promises at this early date. All details to follow in my next EWSNEWS.

For either of the above face-to-face meetings it would be appreciated
if members could do a lateral flow test prior to attending if at all possible please.
